HOW TO USE THE PATH

Cindy Larson: NASM, NCCPT, JGSI

On each card you will find the name of each exercise, a picture of how to do the exercise, and the number of reps, or how many times you do it.  On the backside, you’ll find additional information on proper form.

You’ll also find one or more of these 3 symbols on each card: a TRIANGLE let’s you know when you’re working on your stability or core.  The SQUARE represents muscle strength for that body part being exercised.   And last, but certainly not least, a CIRCLE represents an endurance or heart workout.

The Card Sequence

Each workout always starts by placing the GREEN card and the BLUE card about six feet apart facing up.   This green card represents the BEGINNING warm up card for your workout and the blue cool down card signifies the END of your workout, like this:

BEGINNING Six  Feet END

Now, you’re ready for your MIDDLE cards.  MIDDLE cards are more flexible and the order of the cards and colors can change.  The MIDDLE cards are red, orange, purple and silver.  Just to clarify, red cards are for cardio, orange is for lower body, purple cards are for core/abs, and silver is for the upper body. Red, orange, purple or silver, it doesn’t matter what the order of the middle cards is, as long as YOU NEVER LET TWO OF THE SAME COLORS TOUCH!

WORKOUT TIME

On average, and to simplify your life , each card takes about one minute of your workout time – so you can plan you time accordingly , we have included a count timer to help keep track of time.  This means, for example, if you use a total of six cards, it will take you about six or seven minutes to go through your routine one time, from start to finish.  Ideally, you will go through your path 3 times, or 3 rotations around the path  that you have laid down, for a total work out time of about 18 or 20 minutes.  A quick, simple and effective workout covering all of your major body parts.
